By your 20’s you really need to start paying attention to skincare. We get it, the world of a million skincare products can get overwhelming, and it’s easy to start aimlessly buying products with no real routine in mind. No need to worry, AnewSkin MedSpa is here to help. Here are all the products someone in their 20s should start using for their best skincare routine.
Graduate to a grown-up cleanser
Yes, we’re sorry but it has to be done. Facial wipes no longer count as “cleaning” your face and drugstore cleanser just doesn’t cut it. Upgrade your cleanser to something that will take off all makeup, sunscreen, and pollution from the day.
Get serious about moisture
As we age, our skin gets dryer and dryer; so, getting serious about moisturizer now is proactive! The more hydrated your skin is, the less fine lines and wrinkles show. There are a lot of ways to stay moisturized but one type that is particularly hydrating is a hyaluronic acid moisturizer like our HA collagen. This not only hydrates the skin, but boosts collagen production. Another way to stay hydrated throughout the day is a facial mist such as rose water. No matter your skin type, don’t be afraid to moisturize. Oily skin actually NEEDS moisturizer to help balance it out. Dry skin leads to inflammation and premature wrinkles, no thanks!
We know, retinoids have the stigma of being exclusively used by women in their mid-30s and above. However, starting to apply retinol in your early to mid-20s is an amazing start to your anti-aging journey. We highly recommend our Retinol Forte which can start as low as 2X all the way up to 10X. This retinol is formulated with caffeine and designed to be gentle, yet effective on the skin. Alternatively, our pure vegan, chemical free, gluten-free anti-aging and blemish free acne serum is a gentle introduction to retinol therapy. Not only are retinoids an amazing anti-aging tool, but they are also great at combating acne.
We cannot preach about the importance of daily sunscreen use enough. Especially here in the valley or the sun. Most 20-year-olds are laying out tanning, trying to get some color, but don’t realize how that sun exposure will affect their skin in the long run. 95% of wrinkles are due to sun exposure… 95%! To protect your precious skin, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least 30 SPF daily, year-round. Our tinted physical sunscreen is quite popular.
Bonus points for antioxidants
The sooner you start an eye cream the better! The skin around the eyes is the thinnest on our whole body, thus they age the quickest. Since people in their 20s are not worried about wrinkle reduction, an eye cream with caffeine (such as our eye repair cream) will help to reduce dark circles. You’ll get extra credit for having at least one product in your regimen that contains antioxidants such as vitamins C. An example is our Vitamin C brightening serum formulated to brighten the skin and protect the skin from the ravaging effects of pollution, stress, UV, and infrared ray
